Tafsure 25 mg (Tenofovir alafenamide) is an oral tablet used to treat Hepatitis B and HIV-1 infections in patients. The prodrug is extremely effective, even at a dose tenfold that of its predecessor (Tenofovir disoproxil). Tafsure 25 mg (Tenofovir alafenamide) is taken orally in a dose of 25 mg with food. It is recommended to take it once daily, either in the morning or evening.
Tafsure 25 mg (Tenofovir alafenamide) is indicated in adults with compensated (functional) liver disease. Additionally, it can be used in combination with other anti-HBV (anti-retroviral) medications to treat HIV-1 patients who are not on treatment. However, Tafsure 25 mg (Tenofovir alafenamide) is not recommended in patients with HBV who have decompensated (lack of a functional liver system). In terms of dosage adjustments, the regimen remains unchanged regardless of whether the patient has kidney or other liver complications.
Once swallowed, Tafsure 25 mg (Tenofovir alafenamide) takes approximately 48 minutes to absorb into the system and, once at the site of infection, binds efficiently to viral cells. After antiviral activity is complete, approximately 50% of the drug is excreted from the body in approximately 51 minutes.
